Luuk and Annemarie Wedding- August 12, 2016

Well, I've done it again. Gotten way behind on some blog posts! Luuk and Annemarie got married back in August and it was such a fun day that I can't believe that I haven't shown you sooner! Both Luuk and Annemarie are so easy to get along with, they have such big hearts, and shared so many laughs that day! If you look back at their engagement photos you can see that they both LOVE animals and are amazing with them! When I first met Luuk and Annemarie it was on Luuk's farm where they were in the middle of lambing-season! They also have some beautiful chicken barns, and a few dogs. In fact, Luuk proposed to Annemarie by giving her a puppy. (So cute!) It was only fitting that their wedding was "western-style" with cowboy boots, Wranglers, and cowboy hats. And I loved it. Right from the getting ready photos to the reception when they got a little piglet as a surprise gift. ;) And did I mention that Annemarie had the cutest little baby bump EVER!) Seriously such a fun day. Congratulations Luuk and Annemarie! You are going to be amazing parents to that sweet little baby! Scroll through and enjoy, everyone!

Chantel Baby Bump

This particular shoot is very near and dear to me because it is of one of my closest friends, Chantel! For you that have taken photos with us over the past few years, you will know that Chantel and I started Snap Pea Photography together in 2012 (has it really been that long??) We have been close friends for years and years and I love this girl to bits. About a year ago Chantel took a step back from photography to focus on her nursing career and her beautiful growing family, and she is doing an amazing job with both. Chantel is caring and self-less and brimming with joy. She is always willing to give of herself in order to build others up, and she brightens up whatever room she is in. Since this photo-shoot she has been blessed with another beautiful little girl, and I already love her too. I am so thankful for friends like Chantel!

Peter & Juliana Wedding

I am so excited to share this wedding with you!! I loved every part of this wedding, from the getting ready and reveal-to-dad, right through to the bride and groom escaping the ceremony through a "tunnel of love"! Because of this I had a hard time narrowing things down for you all. Peter and Juliana got married back in August- Peter is a farmer, and Juliana is a teacher. This made things so special, as Juliana had a lot of her students at the ceremony and made them feel welcome with little treat bags- so cute! We were able to go to a private coulee for some photos after the ceremony and it was just perfect (albeit very hot and sunny- thanks for not complaining while you were melting, wedding party!). Here are a few of my favourites of the day! Thanks again for having me there for your beautiful day, Peter and Juliana!

Sophia Newborn

I am so excited to show you some pictures of little baby Sophia. When I first walked into Mrs. B.'s house my jaw almost dropped clear to the floor at all the cute things in her house! If I were the thieving-type I would have driven away so fast with this little buggy. (Have you ever seen that Ikea commercial? "Start the car!") Thankfully I am not, and I was even more excited to see adorable little Sophia in the buggy than without her. She is all that is precious and we even got a few pictures with her older brother. (mostly- I'm going to count it). Such a great little family! :) And if any of you know Mrs. B., you'll have to go look at her house sometime. Just make up an excuse to visit.

Carsen Newborn

A couple of months ago now, little Carsen came into the world! We got together to take pictures outside since it was so hot, but we came pretty close to being stuck in the middle of one of those crazy flash-thunderstorms! We had some lightning and thunder during the shoot, but I think it was worth it. It seems like Carsen's big brother already adores him and I have a feeling they are going to be good buddies growing up. Welcome, Carsen! :)

Houweling mini-session

Here's a mini-session of a mini-lady for you (okay and her parents). But the reason is mostly little Naomi. To celebrate that she was already more than a half year old we got together for a few pictures! Oh and just look at those blue eyes! What a happy little cutie.

Winkelaar (Extended) Family

I spent a large part of my life living down the road from the Winkelaar family. (I would call them my neighbours but I suppose technically we were a few miles apart- country living tends to skew things that way). Because of this we often got to spend time together car-pooling and silaging. I can honestly say that the Winkelaars are one of the most kind and welcoming families you will ever come across. It is so exciting to see how their family has grown! Here are a few of the highlights of our session together. Enjoy!

Lincoln Newborn

Little Lincoln is actually not so little Lincoln anymore- he's almost three months old now! So here's a flashback to back when he was a newborn! His sisters were so proud of their baby brother. He is definitely going to get a lot of loving and attention by them growing up! Lincoln did not love his first shoot, so we got to meet up a couple of weeks later to get a few more pictures. Take a look!

Kirsten's Grad

Hi everyone! I am in serious need to catch up on some blog posts so I can share some of our newest sessions with you! Now that school has started up again, let me share a grad from this past June! (Grad for you new grade 12-ers will be here before you know it! ;) I think Kirsten is such a beautiful girl, and her family is so nice. You'll see proof here in the form of a) her dad lifting Kirsten up in a forklift like the Glinda the Good, and b) her grandpa driving this amazing tractor to the farm so we could take pictures with it! Here's a few of my favourites from our session. Enjoy!

Logan's First Birthday/Cake Smash Session

Oh I'm so glad you're joining me for this post of Logan's first birthday because he is just the CUTEST. I was able to take pictures of Logan when he was still in his moms "belly", and then when he was a newborn, and now he is over a year old! Logan's mom and I work together and went on maternity leave within a few weeks of each other so it makes it even more special to see how her little one is growing! We took a few family photos and then ended things off with a cake smash in the same location we took his newborn photos (why don't I toss one in so we can see how he has grown). While he was eating the cake he kept saying "nom nom nom". Just the cutest!!

Phil & Sarah- June 10, 2016

What a fun wedding this was- the ceremony took place outdoors, with Phil & Sarah's children making up the bridal party. The kids honestly did so great- although little Gracie might have stolen the show on more than one occasion ;) After the ceremony we went to the Nikka Yuko Japanese gardens for a few pictures before going back to the Kinsmen Shelter for a BBQ dinner. The whole atmosphere of this wedding was so laid back and joyous- everyone was there to celebrate this wonderful family together! We had some rain during the reception, but personally, I thought this just made things more special and cozy :) I think this is the first wedding where I've seen the couple actually cut and serve the entire cake! Phil & Sarah thought of absolutely everything to keep their guests (and kids) entertained! Bubble tubes, glow sticks, games, and a Smores Bar! They are such a fun couple and I'm so glad I got to be there for the festivities. Enjoy the photos, and feel free to comment/share.

Darren & Jocelyn- May 26, 2016

Hi again! It's another week and I have another beautiful May wedding to share with you! Darren and Jocelyn got married on the most perfect Thursday- it seemed to go with this year's weather theme: totally unpredictable. But totally perfect. It rained and rained during the morning while everyone was getting ready, and by the end of the ceremony it was bright and sunny. Then just as we were about to wrap up photos, a storm started to blow in and we were able to get a few photos with the storm a'comin! Here are a few the highlights of the day for you (I went a bit overboard last time so I'll keep the photos a bit more succinct this time ;) So feel free to scroll through and enjoy this wonderful wedding with a wonderful couple. Congratulations, Darren & Jocelyn! :)

Dustin and Rachel's Wedding- May 6, 2016

Welcome, everyone, to the first Snap Pea blog post! I can't even describe how excited I am that this day is finally here. I have been wanting to catch up on some blogging for the past, well, few years, and since I need to start somewhere, I think the best place to start is Dustin and Rachel's wedding. Why? Because it was so much fun. Dustin and Rachel were grew up in different cities and by providence alone ended up together in Calgary, Alberta. Both families were bursting with love and joy, and you can see it in every photo. Here are some of my favourite photos from the day, and hopefully by the end you will feel like you were there too (and if you were there, you can relive the day a bit). Please feel free to comment or share with family or friends.

Thanks everyone for your patience in getting this website/blog up and running! Since Snap Pea Photography has been sorely lacking in wedding posts, I will include a few more photos than is probably necessary. Enjoy! :)
